It's called CMY, K?

This is a journal of my experiences as a printmaking major at Maine College of Art. This is a document of my work and process.

  1. The other day I took a video of me picking. Its roughly 5 minutes long and really hard to watch. I had meant to only record about 30 seconds of video before getting caught up in the act and going on longer than I had intended.
I took screencaps from it and started drawing and tracing my form and seeing how my hands and head shift from shot to shot. I started to overlay them using tracing paper, lining myself up by my knees.
I’ve fallen in love with these figures when I don’t think of them as me, or as me picking. I love the way the lines interact with eachother. How some are strong and others fade, similar to the scars I carry on my arms.
I hope to turn these into etchings which I will print on lightweight mulberry. The other day I took a video of me picking. Its roughly 5 minutes long and really hard to watch.
